Requirements:
The following information outlines the requirements and expectations for serving on the Core Council. Please read it carefully to determine your eligibility and interest.
The essential requirements for serving on the Core Council are:
Membership: Must have been a CSLNOCO member for at least one year.
Education: Completion of the Foundations Class.
Commitment: Demonstrated dedication to CSLNOCO's goals and vision and actively contribute time and talent to the Center.
Financial Support: Regular, documented financial contributions to the Center.
Active Participation: Visibility within and knowledge about the CSLNOCO community with regular attendance at Sunday services and Center events.
Professional Skills (Preferred): Experience in business, success in a chosen field, teamwork, strategic planning, budgeting, and decision-making abilities.
Core Council Expectations:
Term: serve a three-year term.
Meetings: attend monthly Core Council meetings and participate in quarterly visioning sessions.
Preparation: Be prepared for monthly meetings, reviewing pertinent documents ahead of time and completing assigned tasks.
Communication: Ability to handle Core Council matters via email and the Slack app, openness to diverse viewpoints, and respectful engagement with others.
Decision-Making: Understand that decisions are made by consensus, with ecclesiastical decisions made by the Minister and others by the Core Council.
Confidentiality: Commitment to keeping matters strictly confidential and decision-making rooted in spiritual principles holding the Highest Good for the Center.
Screening: Must complete a successful background check.
Steps for the Application Process:
Initial Interview: Candidates will have a phone interview with the Senior Minister soon after submitting their application.
Secondary Interview: If progressing, candidates will then have an interview with both the Core Council and the Senior Minister.
Candidate Selection: The Core Council prepares a list of selected candidates, which is approved by the Senior Minister.
Membership Vote: The final slate of candidates is presented to the Center's membership for an official vote at the Annual Meeting.
